Set within private grounds, The Stables is an 18th Century cottage converted from a traditional barn, with original beams and features. Perfect for a couple, this wonderful retreat provides the ideal base from which to explore Fowey, nestling within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the South Coast.
Here fabulous shades of green meet the sparkling blue waters of this popular sailing haven. The narrow little streets reveal a wide array of shops catering for most needs, along with award winning restaurants and excellent pubs. A wonderful woodland pathway takes you on a 10-minute walk from the cottage to fabulous Readymoney Cove Beach. Overlooked by cliffs and St Catherine’s Castle, dating from the 16th Century, this is a sheltered cove and a lovely place to just relax. Venture away from Fowey and within a short distance you find the futuristic Eden Project where a huge rainforest and tropical climate thrive under huge state of the art Biomes. The town of Bodmin lies just 11 miles distant and here discover the mystical atmosphere of Bodmin Moor, with craggy Tors and rock formations or the chilling Bodmin Jail attraction, where one can experience what life behind bars was like over 100 years ago and witness the interactive story first-hand! The opportunities of engaging, energising and enjoyable days out in this area of Cornwall are truly endless!
The cottage has ample parking and a small, inviting front garden with outdoor seating. Once through the traditional front door, you enter a delightful living space, adorned with white rustic stone walls, comfortable sofa, chair, excellent electric wood burner and TV. This cosy space leads onto the kitchen, which is well equipped with fitted cabinets. Rustle up breakfast or evening meal at your leisure here. The wide staircase leads you to the first floor, with inviting double bedroom with original features and a bright airy bathroom with a shower cubicle. The rear of the property has a private enclosed courtyard garden, with seating where you can enjoy morning coffee or end of day beverage as the sun sets over Fowey Harbour.

Great little cottage with everything you need. Beautiful walk down St Catherine's Parade to beach. Co-op within walking distance for shopping bits and pieces. Cottage clean and cosy. Would recommend

The cottage is in a lovely position set back from the road with ample parking. Nicely decorated and comfortable. Ample towels provided. A lovely box of biscuits left for us on arrival. We did have a lovely holiday. A few issues- water was leaking through the roof in the kitchen when we had rain. This was not new as old water stains were visible on the ceiling. The cooking pots and pans are tired and we had some issues cooking without things sticking. There is a lot of building work going on site which was a little noisy.

lovely little cottage, with own parking space, great location for Fowey which is only a 10 to 15 minute walk into Fowey town./harbour ( the road into Fowey is steep to walk back..but you can also take the path through the woods which is easier to walk into and back from Fowey ) plenty of great restaurants, pubs and shops,beaches and walks..stunning scenery. Definitely would come back again.
