A little village in Cornwall called Redruth has roots that go back as far as the 12th century. It is presently at the centre of a unesco World Heritage Site and was formerly the epicentre of Cornish mining history. There are several stores, bars, and restaurants, and the town hosts numerous continental markets all year long. The Great Flat Load, which is great for cyclists and dog walkers both, the Tolgus Tin Stream Works, and the Tehidy Country Park are attractions close to Redruth. Redruth is 2.5 miles, or 10 minutes, from the beach in Portreath. With places like St Ives, Falmouth, the Roseland Peninsula, and the entire Lizard Peninsula within easy reach, the entire magnificent North coast is a suburban paradise for surfing and other watersports.
