Brook Cottage offers a truly memorable stay in a stunning coastal location near Padstow, with breathtaking views, easy access to beaches, and a peaceful atmosphere. Guests frequently praise the cottage’s warmth, comfort, and well-equipped interiors, as well as the friendly and helpful housekeeper. Many appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome hampers and fresh flowers. While some guests noted areas for improvement in maintenance and cleanliness, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it an excellent choice for a relaxing Cornish getaway.
Most guests found the cottage clean and well-presented, with particular praise for the housekeeper’s efforts. However, several reviews mention issues such as dusty blinds, mildew in the bathroom, and occasional lapses in cleaning standards, indicating some inconsistency.
The location is widely celebrated for its spectacular coastal views, proximity to Padstow, and access to scenic walks and beaches. The peaceful setting and dramatic scenery are consistently highlighted as major strengths.
Guests generally found the cottage warm, cosy, and comfortable, with high-quality bedding and a welcoming atmosphere. Some noted minor issues with furniture and the small bathroom, but overall comfort levels remain high.
The cottage is described as well-equipped, but several guests reported maintenance issues such as broken furniture, heating problems, and outdated or missing items. While most facilities meet expectations, some areas would benefit from refurbishment.
Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches like welcome hampers and fresh flowers, which added to their enjoyment. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.
Presented in association with Trinity House, Trevose Head Lighthouse lies on a headland between sandy beaches, four miles west of Padstow. Brook Cottage is one of four delightful cottages on this private site, sheltered beneath the headland.
In association with Trinity House, we are proud to present Brook Cottage at Trevose Head Lighthouse.
Brook Cottage is one of four holiday cottages available at the lighthouse which is located on a headland between the sandy beaches of Harlyn and Constantine Bays, four miles west of Padstow. The Lighthouse was built in 1847, electrified in 1973 and automated in 1995. The site is not open to the public and the four cottages are sheltered beneath a headland and are 75' above the sea, accessed via a one-mile-long private road. There are fine views out to sea from the site and the chance to watch fishing boats coming in and out of Padstow.
The cottages are semi-detached, with the lighthouse positioned in the middle. At the front, there is a communal tarmac forecourt with parking. To the rear, on the sea side, there is a shared walled grass area which is fenced at the cliff edge. (In the interest of safety, it is recommended that guests do not use this space). The South West Coast Path runs around the headland and on towards Padstow. Both bedrooms at Brook Cottage enjoy sea views.
Also on this site are Verity Cottage, sleeping four guests, Pelorus Cottage, sleeping four guests and Nimbus Cottage, sleeping four guests.
Additional Information:
Two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge).
The lighthouse does not have a fog signal.
Two travel cots and highchairs are available on request (shared between the four cottages).
Sea views from the bedrooms only.
Limited mobile signal.
Please note:
Access roads to the lighthouse site are narrow with limited passing places and, dependent on the season and site, there is the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions during bird breeding seasons or other environmental reasons.
Guests are reminded they are renting a heritage building, therefore certain features such as steps, stairs and floor levels may not comply with that of a modern building. As such, we would advise guests to acquaint themselves with the premises on arrival and exercise caution accordingly.
Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times.
A barbecue is not provided, however guests are welcome to bring their own, subject to adhering to the safety precautions set out in the arrival information.
Sorry, no fireworks, drones or remote controlled flying equipment are permitted.

This was a fabulous location, peaceful with the ever changing sea and skies on your doorstep. Amazing sunrise and sunsets. Accommodation generous( for two) though the shower room was a little smaller than expected. We spent a very comfortable six night here.
