Guests generally appreciate the spaciousness and comfort of Tregoninny Vineyard and Woodland Farmhouse, with its large dining area, conservatory, and beautiful surroundings. The property is well-suited for large groups and families, offering a well-equipped kitchen and ample relaxing space. The scenic views and wildlife add to the charm of this remote, peaceful location.
While many guests found the property to be clean and tidy, there were some concerns about cleanliness in certain areas, such as the kitchen and bathrooms. Some reviews mentioned the need for a deeper clean and the presence of cobwebs and mould in places.
The property's location is highly praised for its stunning views and peaceful environment. However, the approach via a steep, gravelled road was challenging for some vehicles, and the remoteness requires driving to access local amenities.
The farmhouse offers a high level of comfort with its spacious rooms, large garden, and facilities like a hot tub. Some guests suggested improvements such as additional dishwashers for large groups and better heating in the dining area.
Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and games room. However, there were reports of maintenance issues such as a leaking conservatory roof, malfunctioning showers, and a hot tub that was not ready upon arrival. Some guests also suggested the need for more cleaning products.
While some guests mentioned complimentary items and a welcome pack, there is not enough consistent information across the reviews to accurately assess the level of thoughtfulness in terms of gifts. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such amenities will be provided.
Engulfed by green countryside and its own private woodland, with vineyards and farmland amounting to 194 acres, this beautiful farmhouse is nestled near the village of Tresillian in Cornwall. Tregoninny is a working vineyard and guests are more than welcome to admire the vines and chat with the staff as they work the vines so to speak. Just a few miles outside of Truro, with designated walks right from the doorstep and plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, this accommodation is perfect for large groups and family celebrations. The lounge is fabulously uplifted by beamed ceilings and large plush sofas, with artwork and upholstery brightening up the place.
A luxurious range cooker warms up the kitchen, complemented by granite worktops, a breakfast island and modern cooking equipment to use at your leisure. Sit in the grand dining room at mealtimes and gossip over the adventures you have had so far. The patio doors stream in plenty of natural light, illuminating the woodwork and high vaulted ceiling. At one corner is a snug area, where you can lounge the days away with a good book. You can always choose the conservatory as your resting spot, with sumptuous seating and a woodburning stove to keep your toes nice and toasty. A wonderful set of bedrooms rest on the first floor, with a double and a twin room on the ground floor for easy access.
The vast gardens and pretty patio to the front of the cottage are simply ideal for relaxing with a drink, whilst the children explore further afield, the large lower garden is also perfect for adventures no matter what the weather. Tresillian is a quaint village offering riverside walks and further south, Truro boasts many shops, bars and restaurants. Take a trip to Falmouth and stroll along the harbour with fish and chips or head across to the Roseland Peninsula to discover wooded countryside and secluded coves. A fabulous region to explore from the ideal base!
Tresillian is nestled in mid Cornwall, three miles east of Truro. Within the village is a small number of older buildings including a Grade II listed thatched Inn. Set in the Cornish countryside, Tresillian retains a largely rural character, with the advantage of not being too far away from Cornwall's capital. Truro offers independent shops as well as art galleries, bars, restaurants, a cinema and a theatre. Day trips can be had to Falmouth, along the Fal estuary, where its natural harbour and beaches will keep you occupied for hours.

The owners showed up on Monday AM, we arrived, however at 5pm on Saturday and received no support until then. Very unhappy and disappointed with the chain of communication.

Our second year at Tregoninny was even better than the first, thanks largely to the direct input and care from the owners, Healeys themselves. There were noticeable improvements across the board: Both water features were cleaned and tidied. The garden received some real attention and looked fantastic. Outdoor lighting was upgraded, including better security lights. A new charcoal BBQ was added. The patio areas were thoroughly cleaned. New (although previously used) outdoor furniture was provided. While helpful, it may not last the entire seasonâso we still recommend bringing camping chairs for extra comfort. As I mentioned last year, this isnât a modern, glossy propertyâitâs older and full of character. Yes, you might see a few flies, midges, or spiders, and the odd cobwebâthis is the middle of the woods, after all! But the important areasâbedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen/dining areasâwere absolutely spotless. Itâs a real home-from-home. Itâs also very accessible for elderly family members, and spacious enough to comfortably seat 20 people for meals. The conservatory is perfect for evening games and family time, and the games room (with TV) and additional lounge with a large TV make it easy for everyone to find a spot to relax. A Few Practical Notes: The drive up is a rough dirt track, but weâve had no issues navigating it in various vehicles. Iâm happy to share directions to the entrance if needed. The large American-style fridge freezer is great, but the secondary fridge is far too small for a group of 20. The owners are aware and looking into it. The washer and dishwasher are older commercial-style models but worked fine. We did have to run a flush clean on the dishwasher and add salt, and make sure the filter was properly screwed inâafter that, no issues. Ideally, the property would benefit from a second full-size fridge freezer and another dishwasher to better accommodate large groups. As others have mentioned, a 5pm check-in and 9am checkout is quite tight, especially for a property of this size. We understand it takes time to clean, but itâs something to be aware of. A Note on Booking: Unfortunately, Sykes let us down again with poor communication. After many years, Iâve decided to close my account with them. The experience was disappointing enough that I can no longer recommend them. In Summary: Tregoninny remains a beautiful, peaceful retreatâperfect for large family gatherings. Itâs clean, well-loved, and getting better every year. Weâre giving it 5 stars again without hesitation. I'm happy to answer any questions for those considering a stay and will be posting a video review soon.
