The cathedral city of Exeter is 12 miles away with a wide range of amenities, including restaurants, shops, theatre and bars. Newton Abbot town is 14 miles away and full of small shops, a family run department store, banks and a market. Other attractions within 5 miles include Castle Drogo and the Miniature Pony Centre. Slightly further afield, yet within 25 miles, are the historic naval city of Plymouth, numerous National Trust properties and South Hams Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The historic market town of Moretonhampstead with its independent shops, cafes, pubs, small supermarket, classic car museum and open air swimming pool (seasonal) is just 7 miles away.
