A fabulous location that has something for everyone, the area is a must for water sports, sailing enthusiasts and fishermen. Walkers and cyclists can enjoy the famous Tarka Trail. North Devon has wonderful beaches and is well positioned for visits to Exmoor, Dartmoor and North Cornwall. At Croyde and Woolacombe, discover some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country, as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor and the South West Coastal Path are located close by and there are NT properties at Arlington and Knighthayes. Shops ½ mile, pub, beach and restaurants approximately ¼ mile.

A home from home cosy cottage with all amenities to have a night in or a gentle stroll to Instow to eat out. Off lead dog walks just a few steps away down to the Tarka trail or beach and lots of other walks to try within 30mins drive, a beautiful part of the country. And a private garden to return to and relax in ( weather dependent!) I did wonder whether to sing the Swallows praises or keep this gem hidden to make sure we can return! Thank you for a lovely week x

We had a lovely stay at the swallows, the owners were very helpful and even took us to the supermarket after we had a problem with our car all in all a very nice week

The Swallows is a lovely and very well equipped barn conversion just outside Instow. A real home from home. There is great walking from the door to the beach and further afield and also a good bus service every 20 minutes during the day to a variety of locations. A walk along the Tarka Trail to Fremington Quay was our favourite. You can also take a little ferry across to Appledore (depending on the tides).
