Brewers Cottage in Umberleigh is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its comfortable furnishings, well-appointed kitchen, and snug lounge. Set in a beautiful Devon village, it offers a tranquil location with a friendly neighbourhood and an excellent local pub. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like a well-stocked pantry and dog-friendly amenities. The garden and the local pub's good food are also highlights, although limited pub opening hours were noted.
Unfortunately we’ve been unable assess this category comprehensively enough based on the reviews we’ve received from guests about this property.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and tranquillity, with a friendly village atmosphere and proximity to a good local pub. The countryside setting and local walks are also appreciated.
The cottage is described as comfortable, with special mentions of comfortable beds and a snug lounge. However, one review suggests it might feel overcrowded with more than two people.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-set-out kitchen and breakfast area. The pantry is noted to be well-stocked. However, the mention of a single bathroom and the suggestion of a fold-up table indicate some room for improvement.
The owner's thoughtfulness is evident in the well-stocked pantry and dog-friendly accessories. While no gifts are explicitly mentioned, the provisions and amenities suggest a considerate approach to hosting. Please note that such thoughtful gestures are not guaranteed.
A characterful, two-bedroom property with traditional thatched roof, Brewers Cottage is nestled in Kings Nympton in North Devon. Resting in the rolling vales of Tarka County, midway between the River Taw and River Mole, Brewers Cottage is the ideal rural getaway for families of four and their furry friends. Stepping through the front door you’ll be welcomed by a beautifully presented living room to your right, where you’ll find a cheerful space to unwind on the comfortable sofas in front of the woodburning stove after a long day exploring the countryside. Make your way through the hallway to the charming, contemporary kitchen equipped with all you need, including a dining table that seats four and an induction hob, to cook and serve up some of your favourite dishes to your guests, before retiring to the upstairs bathroom to freshen up for some much-needed rest in either of the two well-appointed bedrooms. The delightful village of Kings Nympton is just a short drive from the stunning beaches of the North Devon coastline and the beautiful Exmoor countryside. You can venture out to Exmoor National Park to the north and Dartmoor to the south, where you can experience a plethora of outdoor activities for the whole family including walking, cycling, and fishing, ending the day with a tipple in the Grove Inn, less than 100m away from the cottage, serving local beers, ciders, and food (booking advised). Kings Nympton station is just 2 miles from the village centre on the Barnstaple to Exeter line, making Brewers Cottage accessible by rail. With the whole Devon coastline to explore including stunning beaches and majestic clifftops, you'll pass the time here with ease. Whether staying in with a book, curled up in front of a fire or exploring the great outdoors that North Devon has to offer, Brewers Cottage provides an ideal base for all the family.
Kings Nympton is a beautiful thatched village mid way between Exmoor and Dartmoor, and was voted Devon Village of the Year in 1999 by the Campaign for the Preservation of Rural England. Quintessentially English, the village is home to the award-winning thatched and beamed The Grove Inn, which serves excellent home-cooked food and a wonderful range of ale and cider all year round. With Exmoor and Dartmoor so close, there is great walking in the area, and within an hour's drive you can reach the coast at a number of lovely beaches.
