West Anstey Farmhouse is a beautiful nine-bedroom property that can comfortably accommodate up to twenty-one guests, (includes a double sofa bed in the snug area), plus two children on z-beds and two babies in travel cots. Perfect for those looking to hold a family get-together or some time away with friends.

The Farmhouse is extremely spacious with three large reception rooms, a big kitchen and six bathrooms. In addition to lots of indoor space, the farmhouse has a private back garden, with two hot tubs, a sauna, tables and chairs and a large gas BBQ. Just across the drive is an all-weather tennis court, a carp lake for anyone who fancies a little fishing and a large games room with table tennis table, pool table and a dart board. These facilities are shared with guests staying at the other properties. The main living room has three comfortable sofas facing the inglenook fireplace which contains a wood-burning stove. The living room has a 50 inch HD TV with Freeview, a full Sky package & a DVD player. The snug also has a fireplace containing a wood-burning stove, armchairs and a sofa (which can be used as a double sofa bed). This room is perfect for those in your party who might like a bit of quiet time or it can become a gaming or play room. The dining room has a piano, a comfy sofa which looks out over the back garden, a stereo and two oak tables that seat up to twenty guests, fully equipped with the essentials needed for a dinner party. The Farmhouse kitchen is light and airy with a warm welcoming feel. It has an oil fuelled Aga (which is on from mid-September to the end of March) as well as a Rangemaster Excel which boasts a triple oven and a five-ring induction hob. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped and has everything from an apple corer to food processor. You will also find cake tins, baking trays, a food mixer and another stereo. The kitchen has a large table which seats eight and two high chairs are provided for little ones. Each of the nine bedrooms at The Retreat have been dressed individually, three of the bedrooms are en-suite and there are three additional bathrooms, so no queuing for the bathroom is necessary.

Whilst many come to West Anstey Farmhouse to simply unwind and get away from it all, there are a plethora of activities to make your stay enjoyable and interesting. Many choose to explore the wide open spaces of Exmoor National Park and the beautiful North Devon coastline. The accommodation is located just fifteen minutes from the A361 North Devon Link Road ensuring easy access to the glorious beaches at Saunton Sands or Woolacombe, both ideal for surfers or bathers alike. South Molton is also located a short distance away with its Farmers and Pannier markets held each week and a full range of shops, pubs and a supermarket. The larger town of Barnstaple is within 21 miles with numerous shops, a theatre and cinema. So whether you’re visiting in the winter and all you want to do is to curl up on a sofa next to the fire, with a mug of hot chocolate and a good book, or in the summer when you can relax out by the lake with a glass of wine watching the spectacular sunset, everything you could possibly think of is provided.
