Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Large garden with garden furniture. Natural grounds. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: No children under 13 years old except babies under 2 years old. This property has a natural water supply from a spring. There is a stream and mill pond next to the property.. Mill Cottage is a lovely little converted flour mill in the village of Aveton Gifford, 4 miles from Kingsbridge. The property has parking directly outside as well as a great, private south-facing sitting terrace overlooking the mill pond. The rear gardens which are also used by the owners are very beautiful with various areas and seating, and are great for a stroll by the mill stream to see the hens in the garden and the ducks in the orchard.
The village, with a pub, village green, shop, tennis courts and church, is just a short walk away as is the tidal road along the river, a haven for wildlife, particularly sea birds. Beautiful sandy beaches at Bantham and Bigbury-on-Sea are only 4½ miles away, with access to the famous South West Coastal Paths. From Bigbury-on-Sea you can walk across the causeway (at low tide) to Burgh Island - there is a sea-tractor to bring you back, if you stay too long on the island!
The area is a walker’s paradise, with several local walks, including the Avon Estuary Walk, directly accessible from Mill Cottage. Plymouth is 17 miles to the west and Salcombe only 7 miles away. Spend a day in Totnes or Dartmouth, or access Dartmoor in half an hour. Beach 4½ miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 175 yards.

Confirmed Guest
Property smelt damp and spoilt the stay so would not recommend it. Kingsbridge worth avoiding for at least a season due to roadworks and one way system. Petrol difficult to access.Parking impossible especially if you are not mobile. Local shop not friendly or helpful.Nowhere to tie up dog outside.Disappointed overall. Might avoid South Devon until it sorts itself out.Regular visitor to Devon but it need to up its game.

Mill Cottage is clean comfortable and warm,this cottage is the perfect if you want a relaxing quiet holiday,in a lovely setting.John and Maggie are the perfect hosts, welcoming friendly,helpful.And our dogs loved the walks.We would recommend Mill Cottage,this was our second visit .

A great place to get away from it all. Very friendly owners who made us most welcome. A quiet retreat but close to a main road leading to Kingsbridge which has local shops and supermarkets. A lovely pub with very reasonably priced meals just a short walk from the cottage.
