Visit in March or April to catch them in their full glory. The micro climate also allows giant agave, tree ferns, palm trees and other subtropical flowers to flourish.

Dartmouth has a Food Festival, Music Festival and Regatta. Christmas festivities start with Candlelit Dartmouth on the 28th and 29th November, features carol singing, Christmas Lantern workshop and parade, festive hot food and artisan market. Additionally the steam train of lights with optional Santa runs from 29th November to 23rd December. Omega House will be decorated for Christmas from the 25th November. Guest parking is at the top of the steep drive on the forecourt or across the drive at the bottom. Access to Beacon Road is restricted to 6’6” - many cars and SUV's do not fit down this road, check width. Please approach this road at your own caution. For wider vehicles you can park at the top of Church Hill on Ridley Hill. Access down Princes’ public steps (approx. 88) enter Omega via side gate. Suite cases can be wheeled along Beacon Road to Omega, to avoid carrying down steps.
