3 The Elms is a well-placed apartment set in the coastal town of Salcombe, offering a comfortable base for up to three guests. Inside, the open-plan living space keeps things simple and sociable, with a kitchen equipped for easy meal prep, a dining area for sitting down together, and a welcoming sitting space to relax after a day along the coast. The apartment features two bedrooms, including a double and a bunk room, the latter best suited to children. A modern shower room with walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC completes the interior. Outside, off-road parking for one car makes arriving straightforward, and one well-behaved pet is welcome to join the stay.
With a shop, pub and the harbour all nearby, everything you need is within easy reach, from everyday essentials to waterside strolls. From the doorstep, Salcombe is known for its sandy beaches, relaxed cafés and sailing scene, making it easy to fill your days without venturing far. Within driving distance, Dartmouth offers historic charm and riverside views, while Plymouth provides a wider mix of shops, attractions and maritime heritage. For a more family-focused day out, Paignton features a traditional seaside feel along with a zoo and plenty to keep younger visitors entertained. 3 The Elms makes a great base for exploring South Devon at your own pace.
Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. You can also take the small ferry across the estuary to the beaches of East Portlemouth, and a walk to Gara Rock. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including sailing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
