Shewte Farm is an elegant, Grade II listed, galleried stone barn and has a floor-to-ceiling picture window offering spectacular views over Dartmoor. Sleeping six comfortably in three spacious bedrooms, it has an open plan living space with French limestone floor, underfloor heating and a wood burner. It has been furnished throughout with characterful antiques and the highest quality linen. Guests also have use of the adjoining games barn and the tree house.
The location is idyllic and ever so peaceful, set in the middle of 80 acres of fields, woods and streams set between the National Park and National Trust land. The area is exceptionally rich in wildlife including buzzards, deer, otters (part of National England Otter Survey) and sky larks, as well as England’s largest collection of bog myrtle. The location is perfect for walking or cycling on Dartmoor, visiting numerous beaches or National Trust properties. Despite this rural setting not far from Bovey Tracey, which include an excellent delicatessen, butcher, baker and restaurants. Beach 10 miles. Shops and restaurants 1½ miles.

Our second year in a row and would have no hesitation returning again. Lovely barn conversion in a beautiful, peaceful location, and so much to visit nearby.

Beautiful barn, stunning hillside location, lots of wildlife. Great local amenities at Bovey Tracey - outdoor pool, shops and cafes, arts centre, lovely walks into Parke NT where there are several EV chargers.Cottage was expensive, as most others are also, and lacked in a few basics which need correcting, but was overall spacious and well equipped and a beautiful barn conversion.

We had a great time at Shewte farm. Our hostess Jane was extremely welcoming and obliging and sorted one or two housekeeping problems. Much appreciated the welcoming cake and cookies etc. And a kitchen full of essential kitchen supplies that most houses do not provide .. and loads of quality China so that the dishwasher could be filled everyday ...Plenty of room for everybody and grounds of which we made good use. Cricket slip cradle was great fun enjoyed by all ...Definite highlight was the large high stone barn with the table tennis table and dartboard. Adults and children much enjoyed our time there. We made forays to the local towns, Marble Museum was a great fun, as was climbing the local tors, Haytor of course and three others...
