About this property

Chudleigh Knighton 3.7 miles. Resting on the outskirts of Bovey Tracey, near Chudleigh Knighton in Devon, is The Mews, a first-floor barn conversion. Enjoying countryside views and a prime position near the Dartmoor National Park, whilst completed to a high standard with a woodburning stove, open-plan layout, and a country-style interior, the annex welcomes four guests and two small well-behaved dogs, perfect for couples, families, and friends alike. Relish in the well-equipped kitchen, suitable for rustling up home cooked meals, before gathering around the dining table, or planning your trip from the plush armchairs. Take advantage of your surroundings by dining alfresco in the private patio, with a barbecue in tow, where you can relax and watch the neighbouring ducks and geese play in the pond. Head back upstairs to the well-appointed bedrooms, including a double and a twin, rising to a fresh shower in the contemporary shower room. Once you're ready to explore, head into Chudleigh Knighton, where you can enjoy riverside walks, meals out, and a shopping spree to grab the essentials. Within proximity to The Mews, you'll also find Stover Country Park, spanning over 114 acres, Canonteign Falls, and Becky Falls Ancient Woodland Park, set within the national park. For nature lovers, hikes up Bonehill Rocks and Hound Tor Rocks are recommended, whilst The Miniature Pony Centre is a hidden gem, offering indoor and outdoor activities. Torquay is a must-visit seaside destination to include on your travels, where you'll find an abundance of attractions to keep you busy, with Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves, Lyme Bay, and Torquay Museum as firm favourites. Enjoy all of this, and more, by booking The Mews.

Between Bovey Tracey and Newton Abbot is the charming Devonshire village of Chudleigh Knighton. A few services are available in the village, such as Warner the Café, Claycutters Arms, and a post office, and river walks along the River Teign are well-liked. Visitors entering Newton Abbot will find more services and activities, such as the 114-acre Stover Country Park, the Decoy Country Park, and the Newton Abbot Racecourse. Several attractions, including the Torquay Museum, Meadfoot Beach, and Tessier Gardens, may be found in the seaside town of Torquay, which is readily reachable from the village. Warm welcome with smiles from the owners and lots of information and scones with clotted cream and jam. Owners are very helpful and friendly. The Mews is fully equipped and spotlessly clean, the photos don't do it justice, and it's perfect for exploring Dartmoor and nearby Torquay and beaches. My daughter loved feeding the lambs on site with farmer Geoff, who was brilliant with her. Cannot fault the mews and it's owners who went out of their way to make our little break memorable. Thank you so much. Can't recommend the mews highly enough.

A very warm welcome from Andy and Charmaine - home-baked scones (delicious), helpful tips on the apartment and local area and friendly chats through the week. The apartment was really comfortable and kitted out with all we needed. Great location surrounded by nature (lots of bird varieties, cute lambs and sheep and we even saw a couple of fawns on the lane early one morning!), close enough to Bovey for shops and activities and a short drive to Dartmoor for wilder exploration.
