This detached bungalow converted from barns is situated on a country lane between Welcombe hamlet and the South West Coast Path. Half a mile from each, this is brilliant accommodation for walking or enjoying a peaceful haven. You will feel right at home in the cosy sitting room with its traditional wood burner to snuggle up beside and a dining table for leisurely meals prepared in the well equipped kitchen with its door to the patio. Peaceful nights in this tranquil spot are on the cards in the two comfortable bedrooms. The big patio has a table and chairs for alfresco meals and you are welcome to walk dogs or play football in the meadow beyond.
The ancient thatched village pub is a great place for eating out and it is an enjoyable walk along a quiet road to get there – though do remember a torch if you are heading home in the dark. Walkers will be in seventh heaven with the Coast Path so close and it gives you splendid views from cliff tops and a range of birds to spot. If surfing is your game, head down to the cove beach at Welcombe Mouth to catch some good waves, or it isn't far to Bude and the huge sandy beach. Barn View is an excellent location for exploring a dramatic coastline or recharging your batteries.

A little wear and tear which is to be expected but nothing to complain about. Pretty sound proof...once we closed the door, we couldn't hear the stormy weather outside. The kitchen was well equipped and had plenty of free cupboard space for supplies. Barn View is in a great location as base to explore Devon and Cornwall. The Old Smithy Inn was very welcoming and a great place to stop after a day out. Overall would definitely recommend, we had a great time, humans and dogs alike. Thank you for having us.

Only criticism is the lack of hooks! On bedroom doors for dressing gowns etc. ; bathroom. BUT, the owner was brilliant! One of our guests had a fall and he was so understanding and helpful. Also attended to small problem when we arrived. Highly recommended! Thanks Roy!

Could do with lighting in the patio area outside the kitchen door as I tripped twice. Back door was a bit tricky to lock/unlock and hubby had to fix shower bracket as it was loose. Otherwise loved it, lovely and peaceful, great location and great views, although hedges a bit overgrown and hindered the view slightly.
