If you fancy taking to the water yourself, with direct access to the beach you are able to launch our own canoe. You can also hop on the local, seasonal ferry between Instow and Appledore, each under 4 miles away. At both of these quaint villages you can enjoy a dinner of fish and chips on the harbour after wandering the estuary front and enjoying delicious food with superb views. Make the 13 mile trip to the cobbled streets of Clovelly and go searching for waterfalls, fresh seafood and donkeys, or stop off at the market town of Bideford, 2.5 miles from home and enjoy a spot of shopping.
