Guests say

Berkeley Cottage in Ilfracombe is a quaint and cosy property with a convenient location. Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome pack and the property's proximity to local amenities and attractions. The cottage's charm and the friendly neighbourhood enhance the experience, although some guests suggest improvements in cleanliness and maintenance.

Several reviews mention the need for a deeper clean, with comments on cobwebs, a smell, and the need for a spring clean. The cleanliness is noted as satisfactory by some, but others highlight areas for improvement.

The location is frequently praised for being close to the high street, local amenities, and attractions. Its proximity to the harbour and ease of exploring Ilfracombe and surrounding beaches are seen as major positives.

The cottage is described as cosy and the welcome pack adds to the comfort. However, there are mixed reviews about the beds and furniture, with some suggesting the beds are mismatched and the sofa uncomfortable.

The cottage is well-equipped with necessary appliances, including a dishwasher and wood burner. However, there are remarks about missing tiles, plaster, and the need for a paint refresh. The tumble dryer's efficiency and outdoor furniture condition are also concerns.

Guests are delighted with the welcome pack, which adds a personal touch to their stay. However, it should be noted that such gestures, while appreciated, may not be a consistent offering for every visit.

Its a lovely little cottage. Down a little mews a few minutes for the main high street. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. But could do with a deep clean. The stair carpet needs a good vax to remove the deep dirt. A fresh coat of paint, would make all the difference. And I personal would split the two beds to singles, so they can have a quilt each. The Stairs are very steep, I would recommend for an older couple. But all in all we had a lovely stay. The dog loved the wood burner. That was his spot for his stay. Thank you for the lovely welcome pack it was not expected, but very much appreciated.

The cottage really needs some TLC the pictures on the website are obviously old and from a few summers ago The cottage front garden is now a mess no gate so not dog secure/friendly.The inside had many bits of plaster missing off many walls. Tiles missing in bathroom.Big thick cobwebs everywhere.Bedroom had two single beds shoved together yet they are completely different beds with wooden frames so if you lie down the middle of bed it hard frame is on your back.Path to road/cottage full of black bins and old refrigerators? That people have just dumped, area isn't great.

Great location, lovely stay. Cute and cosy cottage and lovely decor. Could be a tiny bit cleaner but nothing major.
