This detached, single-storey holiday lodge is situated in delightful countryside close to the Hartland Peninsula. There is an enclosed decking area which wraps around two sides of the lodge and a lake close by where guests can fish. The property is an ideal destination for a relaxing holiday or to explore the local countryside and coastline. There are beaches at Woolacombe and Sandy Bay, plus children’s attractions The Milky Way and The Big Sheep, within driving distance. The fishing village of Clovelly, with its steep cobbled streets, and the rugged coastline at Hartland Quay are well worth a visit. The local shop and pub are only 2½ miles away.
The path down to the property is narrow and can be muddy.

Very dirty in the property, nail clippings in the bedroom, filthy in both bathrooms, mould in the shower, hose hanging down the shower head. over grown around the outside of the lodge (nothing like on the listing) NO INTERNET! Owner didn't say she got rid of it even though the password is in the welcome book. Had to travel up the road to get a signal, No dvd player so cleaner brought one on the second day. Rodent droppings in the boiler cupboard. Wardrobe full so hardly any space to hang clothes. Twin mattress had black marks. The heater in the ensuite didn't work and the connector to the towel rail was showing bare wires, told the owner abd nothing was done.

Lovely, comfortable lodge in a quiet location. We had a great stay for a week with our dog and would definitely recommend for a relaxing break. The property was clean and well equipped. Nice and warm at night as the nights in September were starting to become cooler.The enclosed decking area is ideal to sit out with a dog and relax in the beautiful forest location. The grounds around the property are well kept and tidy but also left natural which we really liked.We shopped at a supermarket to stock up at the beginning of the week as one draw back is the distance to a local shop. This is not a problem if you plan in advance but it would probably take an hour just to nip out for a few things. The only other negative some people may find off putting are the very narrow country lanes with potholes that are unavoidable to reach the property. Some have very few passing places and Sat Nav was a bit off when navigating to the property.Overall a great base for exploring North Devon and Cornwall with our dog and we would return again.
