Riverside Mews in Bideford is highly praised for its cleanliness, stunning river views, and convenient location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped property, cosy atmosphere, and thoughtful touches. While some mention minor issues with comfort and facilities, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
Guests consistently describe the property as very clean, with several reviews highlighting its spotlessness. The high level of cleanliness contributes significantly to the positive experiences reported.
The location is frequently commended for its beautiful views of the river, proximity to Bideford town, and ease of access to local attractions. Some guests found the nearby area a bit run down, but this did not detract significantly from the overall positive feedback.
The property is generally considered comfortable, especially for smaller groups. However, a few guests noted that it could be cramped for four adults and mentioned an uncomfortable double bed, which slightly lowers the comfort score.
Facilities are well-regarded, with the property being well-equipped and offering extras. Some guests suggested minor improvements, such as the addition of an air fryer and oven gloves, and mentioned creaky floorboards.
The presence of a welcome folder, Christmas decor, and welcome gifts like muffins are mentioned, indicating a high level of thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not guaranteed, guests should note that these are a pleasant bonus rather than an expectation.

Situated right beside the South-West Coastal Path, Riverside Mews is a relaxing, end-terraced riverside house that provides great holiday accommodation regardless of the time of year. Recently renovated in 2023 where new vinyl tiles floors have been laid on the ground floor and upstairs bathroom. The property enjoying stunning views across the River Torridge from the garden is also just a short level walk along the river to one side, and Bideford’s Victoria Park on the other (some 400 yards away). The path leads through the park (home to Burton Art Gallery and Museum and the Café du Parc) and on to the pretty port town of Bideford, with its pastel-coloured houses alongside a tree-lined quay. The park and its play areas are great for the young (and young at heart) with numerous playing fields, & a dedicated area for dogs, a small pool plus a skateboard park next to Bideford Town Football Club nearby.
What to Do? Maybe take a boat trip to the nature reserve at Lundy Island, which offers the chance to see seals and dolphins, or there are many a pretty fishing villages to explore in the area, starting with places such as Clovelly, Instow and Appledore. Just 2 miles away, the vast golden sandy beach of Westward Ho! is popular with surfers. If you’d rather stay a little closer to home, you can saunter along the coastal path that follows the river, yards from the water’s edge. The nearest slipway is 200 yards down river from the property, whilst keen cyclists and walkers can join the Tarka Trail, which passes through Bideford.

Very clean very comfortable, everything you need .Lovely view of the Torridge bridge and estuary.A 10 minute walk down the side of the river into Bideford .A 10 minute drive to Instow and Appledore. Will definitely return.

This is perfectly fine holiday accommodation. The reason for 4 stars is just because there are more spacious rentals around for similar money. This accommodation is okay for 2 but would be cramped for 4 adults.
