Guests say

Thimble Cottage in Dorset receives high praise for its immaculate presentation, comfort, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including welcome packs for both humans and dogs. The secure garden and location are ideal for pet owners and those looking to explore the local area, with friendly hosts and a peaceful village setting adding to the charm.

Reviewers consistently describe the cottage as spotless and immaculate, indicating exceptional cleanliness throughout the property.

The property is lauded for its quiet village setting with easy access to dog walking opportunities and the Jurassic coast, though one mention of patchy mobile signal slightly impacts the score.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with a well-fenced garden for dogs and a cosy interior. A single mention of low beams and a half step suggests a slight adjustment for some guests.

The cottage is praised for its comprehensive kitchenware, secure garden, smart TV, and WiFi. The presence of an EV charging point is particularly appreciated by guests with electric vehicles.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident in the welcome packs and provisions for dogs. While gifts are warmly mentioned, it is noted that such personal touches, though delightful, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Blandford Forum is a market town in Dorset, England, situated by the River Stour. Notable for its Georgian architecture, most of the town was rebuilt in the 18th century after it was destroyed by a fire in 1731. King George II made a donation to rebuild the town centre with designs from local architects John and William Bastard. The Blandford Georgian Fayre is an annual event held in the first week of May and celebrates its Georgian heritage, with presentations, historical re-enactments and music and dancing. One of the town’s biggest events takes place on the late Bank Holiday weekend, the Great Dorset Steam Fair. A largely colourful festival with over 2,000 exhibits and an old time steam funfair. Offering a wide selection of independent store, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants, cafés and a Georgian tearoom. So much to visit within this quaint town and makes for a wonderful tourist attraction, whatever the season.

Smart kitchen with everything we needed to cook. The bed was very comfortable with good pillows and the whole house was perfectly cleaned. Well situated for our ‘Dorset Walks’ book as it was right in the middle! Lots of places to see within easy reach. There’s a pub a few doors down that’s open part of the week. We had a lovely stay and appreciated the kind welcome left for us by the owners.

Very peaceful and relaxing location. We really enjoyed our stay.

Its location perfect for what we intended to use it for. However I only used it for one night due slipping down the bottom part of the stairs during first night resulting in breaking my hip. The wife used cottage rest of time and was more than happy
