Potter on the village beach, which is said to be one of the best places in the country for finding fossils. Keen walkers might like to pick up the South West Coast Path from Charmouth and attempt the 7-mile stretch to West Bay, taking them up to the summit of the spectacular Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast, along the way. Make trips into Lyme Regis to potter in its colourful shops and dine out in its cafes and pubs. The beach here is popular and there are opportunities for water sports and fishing. Book a boat trip out on the open sea, visit the museum and take part in a fossil-hunting tour.
