This two-bedroom cottage on the quieter side of town is a fantastic find for families, offering a great set-up including a kids’ TV den and a choice of outdoor seating areas. With amazing sea views from inside and out, you can really maximise your time on the coast.

On arrival at this elevated property, you’d be forgiven if you are distracted by the superb views from the patio seating area and have to sit down and take it all in. But when you enter the house, there’s even more to impress, with a bright lounge/diner and a window seat in the bay with more views of the busy harbour. The maritime colour scheme lends a restful atmosphere throughout, and the house is peppered with cute coastal pieces and seaside-themed artwork. The sleeping areas are perfect for small families – the kids will be in their element with their own TV lounge including games console, and on the second floor, a stunning master bedroom with outside terrace.

The house is set in a pretty part of town, and there are several green spaces within a few hundred metres, including pretty Battery Gardens where you can enjoy a shady walk through the trees with the sea as a backdrop. Stroll through the gardens to secluded Fishcombe Cove, half a mile away, or carry on the South West Coast Path to explore more coves and beaches around the coastline. Shops and cafes in the town centre are less than half a mile away. For a spot of retail therapy, head to the historic town of Dartmouth, 5 miles away, which has a great range of high street and specialist shops, plus some excellent galleries and museums.
