About this property
Once the original bakehouse of Grove Farm, The Old Bakery has been beautifully crafted for romantic escapes while preserving the features that tell its story. Steeped in history, with ancient brick floors, exposed beams and a vaulted bedroom, it's beautifully suited to couples and their four-legged companions seeking to unwind and reconnect. Explore Suffolk's rolling countryside and picturesque medieval villages before returning to the striking Georgian fireplace built into the original baking oven. As evening falls, stroll across the surrounding fields to the welcoming village pub for hearty locally sourced food and a well-earned drink.
Step inside and immediately feel at home in the welcoming open-plan living space, where handmade French doors frame views across the orchard and fill the cottage with natural light. The handcrafted ash kitchen is well equipped for preparing leisurely breakfasts before days spent exploring, whilst the comfortable sofa invites you to curl up beside the crackling Georgian coal fireplace after returning from the countryside. Original brick flooring, reclaimed timbers and limewashed walls celebrate the cottage's heritage, creating a wonderfully warm and relaxing atmosphere throughout. Upstairs, the impressive vaulted bedroom continues the cottage's timeless charm, with exposed beams, reclaimed wooden floors and a king-size bed. A cosy reading nook beside the window provides the perfect place to unwind with a good book, whilst the waterfall walk-in shower completes this charming retreat with everything needed for a comfortable countryside escape.
Outside, begin your mornings with a coffee in the orchard garden before stepping directly onto scenic countryside footpaths. Wander through the surrounding fields, discover Suffolk's quiet lanes and historic villages.
This cottage forms part of Grove Farm, a collection of six holiday cottages situated within close proximity of one another. While some outdoor areas are shared, each cottage enjoys its own private space, allowing guests to relax and unwind in peace.
