Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. The Nest is a beautiful, self-contained one-bedroom cottage situated next to the main farmhouse. It can sleep up to three adults or two adults with two children. It’s the perfect location for those wishing to explore the local area and is ideal for those interested in walking and wildlife. The living room is a former conservatory with a cosy roof and has underfloor heating to ensure comfort all year round. The living room has a double sofa bed, TV and dining table. You’ll also find a selection of games and toys to keep you entertained, and books and maps to help you whilst exploring the area. The small but perfectly formed kitchen has everything you need, with a full oven, gas hob, microwave and fridge. You’ll find some of the basics such as cooking oil, salt, pepper etc already in the cupboards. The bedroom features a super kingsize bed, reading lights, built-in wardrobes with a full-length mirror and French doors opening up onto the private garden. It’s a bright and airy room, but once you’ve drawn the curtains and dimmed the lights it’s the ideal place to cosy up with a good book. Just off the bedroom is a large shower room, with a walk-in shower, twin vanity units and toilet. The garden has a seating area, with gas BBQ and a chimnea with views out across the farm fields allowing you to listen to the birdsong.
We’ve made sure you don’t need to pack too heavily, with games, toys for the kids, DVDs, books, picnic blanket, flask, Tupperware, children’s cups, plates and cutlery all provided. Don’t worry we haven’t forgotten your four-legged friend, there’s bowls, blankets, poo bags and a little treat ready for their arrival too.
Located in the heart of Suffolk Coast’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Nest is the perfect retreat for those wishing to explore the area. Situated discreetly off a private farm track, well away from the busy roads and directly on the Sandlings Walk, it’s ideal for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers. The Nest is just 1½ miles from Aldeburgh town, which has an array of pubs, cafés, shops and plenty of other facilities. The nearest pubs are in Knodishall and Aldringham, only a 5-minute drive away or can be reached via country footpaths.
Popular places such as Thorpeness, Southwold, Minsmere Nature Reserve, Orford, Woodbridge and Framlingham are all within a 35-minute drive. One (two smaller dogs considered), well-behaved dog is permitted during your stay. Dogs must be kept under control at all times and be cleaned up after. Please note there are other resident dogs on site. The garden is enclosed but is not fully escape proof! Beach 2 miles. Pub and restaurant 1¾ miles.

We had a lovely stay in a lovely property. It’s very secluded and quiet which is what we were hoping for.We would be happy to go back,And hopefully the weather will be kinder to us when we do.

All in all an excellent place to stay. For a dog owning couple, there are lots of exciting walks right from the doorstep so no need to drive anywhere. The place was very comfy and warm and the bathroom shower was amazing 🤩 We all had a lovely time and it only got a bit stressful when the road works blocked our path, but there’s always a way through. Thorpeness is delightful and a lovely 40 min walk through woods, bird RSPB reserve and a disused railway line. So no roads to navigate. Excellent pub in the Dolphin, and a wonderful cafe for lunch by the meare. Would definitely like to revisit.

The cottage was excellent & just as required for our few days away meeting up with old friends & visiting an area we haven’t been to for years. Both dogs were very happy !
