Nestled into the picturesque Alde River valley and within easy reach of fantastic castles and the Suffolk coast, Stable Cottage at the Grove is a fantastic holiday home resting in Great Glemham, near Framlingham, ideal for a family and their four-legged friend. Finished to a high standard, these stunning Victorian stables welcome you to park off road and unpack with ease into a property which retains many period features, including tall ceilings and roof beams. Enter into an airy open-plan living area, where sofas crouch beside a woodburning stove and create a spot where you can relax with a coffee and plan the day ahead of you, and the spacious kitchen is outfitted with contemporary amenities and stylish furniture, fantastic for family cooking, and you can enjoy your meal in the dining table, separated by a wooden wall. For your refreshment there is a ground-floor shower room and a bathroom, as well as three bedrooms, including a king-size, double and single with pull-out stowaway bed. The garden will not disappoint, with beautiful shrubs framing a seating area where you can dine alfresco, and there is a fantastic outdoor swimming pool (open from May to September) and communal tennis court for you to enjoy, as well as 30 acres of private meadows grazed by ponies and abundant in wildlife. Great Glemham is a wonderful countryside location with its own pub and close to Parham Airfield Museum, so why not take a step back in time before enjoying a pint in the sunshine? Surrounded by picturesque woodlands and countryside views, you will be delighted to discover a selection of walks, beginning at the 179-hectare Pound farm, where an amalgamation of ancient woodlands and meadows will make you pick up your camera and see what wildlife you can capture. Travel a little further from the property and you will find tasty eateries, a convenience store and a selection of shops at the historic town of Saxmundham, and to get a taste of local history, enjoy a day trip over to Framlingham and marvel at the amazing castle before picnicking in the grounds. Fall in love with the countryside of Suffolk with a stay at Stable Cottage at the Grove.

The beautiful market town of Framlingham is mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086) and has been known since Anglo Saxon times, when it consisted of several manors which William the Conqueror (1066-1087) presented to Roger Bigod. The town is of particular interest as it has a large castle and mere which was built between 1190 and 1210. The town is surrounded by lovely villages to explore and has two of the oldest working post boxes and one of Britain’s smallest houses, with the footprint measuring 6.1x2.2m! Today, the town offers a number of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and it is also home to Framlingham Summer Arts Festival.

Thanks so much. Warm welcome and everything as described in the blurb - if not better. Look forward to returning sometime. All the best, Ben and John.

Bigger than it seems on the photos. Loved the secure garden as did our dog. Loved our horsey neighbours too. The property was comfortable and had everything we would have wished for. The main bed was very soft if you are partial to that- we are not but we still wouldn’t hesitate to go back. The swimming pool was literally the icing on the cake. Tremendous

The owner was very flexible at allowing us to use the swimming pool and tennis court. We also loved the adjoining stables and being surrounded by horses.
