Cooking is a joy in the well-appointed kitchen, with a table for kids’ tea, there’s a gorgeous dining room for grown-up dinners too. Play darts and dance to your favourite tunes (not at the same time!) with a disco in the playroom; there’s also a shower room on the ground floor. Upstairs are two beautiful king-size bedrooms, a cool bunkroom for two lucky kids which leads to a single (with a trundle bed), and another bright and colourful single, as well as the bathroom. Relax in the front garden with a drink, light the BBQ and fire pit and enjoy dinner in the shelter in the back garden.

Pop out to the local shops and cafes, and over the road to the pub for a quick drink or meal. Grab the lead and the kids and head to the beach (your four-legged friends are welcome all year) perfect for flying a kite and surfing. Wander along the sand and shingle beach then inland to Dunwich (7 miles); head to Southwold, (1.5 miles) crossing the river by foot ferry (summer only) or the footbridge and visit the pier. Walberswick is famous for crabbing and is a must!
