Formally a chapel and packed with original features, this beautifully appointed property has everything needed for the perfect stay. This is a grown-up property, somewhere for couples to meet up or for small families who are looking for a gorgeous getaway in which to relax and unwind.
With two bedrooms, both with kingsize beds, the master-suite also boasts a dressing room. There are also two bathrooms, one with a shower cubicle and the other with a bath and separate shower cubicle. The interior designer really has met the brief throughout, which was to keep a strong nod to chapel while ensuring it is a contemporary property you are going to want to be in, to savour and enjoy. The addition of a wood burning stove in the open-plan living space and a sunny, enclosed courtyard at the rear, make this the perfect break whatever season you choose to come and enjoy it.
The pretty Suffolk village of Wenshaston itself is very picturesque and is the home of the 16th century Doom Panel painting, considered to be a very rare work of art. But the real draw of this location is its proximity to the beautiful beaches of Dunwich, Southwold, Walberswick and Aldeburgh, all celebrated for their natural beauty and quaint seaside vibes. Southwold is of course home to its famous pier and is packed full of artisan and boutique cafés, inns, bistros, restaurants and shops. It really is a charming town and along with that much celebrated wide, sandy beach it is also home to a really special little cinema, the Electric Picture Palace. Make time to visit Aldeburgh too and explore the picturesque town and the historic Martello Tower. And undertake a blustery beach walk or a spot of sunbathing on Dunwich beach, a truly breathtaking spot. In fact, there is so much to do, you will struggle to fit it all in, which is a great excuse to head back to the Church Rooms and fall in love with it all over again!

My second visit to the beautifully presented and comfortable Church Rooms.Ideally located for exploring a lovely part of Suffolk.However I was disappointed to find the the kitchen equipment is still sadly lacking.....not everyone eats out when on holiday!

Characterful and well appointed accommodation, sympathetically restored. Thought had clearly been given to the decor even down to the toilet roll holder in the shower room! Agree with a previous reviewer about the small size of the towels provided and we thought that the kitchen equipment could be more comprehensive eg. oven glove, measuring jug. Overall we were very happy with The Church Room.

We had a fantastic stay at Church Rooms. The cottage is beautifully decorated with lovely references to it's historical architecture. Loved all the artwork and interior design. It is well equipped with everything you need. Bigger bath towels is the only thing it could have. Shower was powerful and hot. The cottage was brilliant for our dog, with a lovely courtyard garden and easy access to the road. Great walking area for the dog in the village and footpaths. Unfortunately very wet at this time of the year. There are a few quite steps up to the main front door. But a hand rail to help. If you have disability issues this could be slightly tricky, but there is another entrance at the back into garden which still has steps but slightly easier. The location is perfect in a very quiet and peaceful place. It ideal to getting to Southwold, Aldeburgh and the Suffolk coast. We have already booked to come again next year!!
