This is a fabulous rural getaway for two in the heart of Herefordshire. It’s a wonderful base for walking or cycling and, because it’s set on a smallholding, you can meet the resident goats! If you’re looking for some fun activities, just 0.5 miles away is The Grove Golf and Bowl – golf, mini golf and bowling are available, and you can grab a bite to eat between games. There is a handy local pub "The Lamb Inn" just 0.75 miles away, which is dog friendly and serves food daily (pre-booking advised). The lovely market town of Leominster is just 3.5 miles away, offering plenty of quirky shops to browse, or you could head to the cathedral city of Hereford (10.5 miles). Across the border in Shropshire is Ludlow (14 miles) – we recommend browsing the local producers’ market and visiting the fascinating medieval castle. Several National Trust attractions lie close by, for instance, Berrington Hall is 6.5 miles away and Brockhampton Estate is 13.5 miles away from the property.
Tucked to the side of the owner’s home, this thoughtfully presented property has a private entrance and you’re guaranteed a friendly welcome from your hosts. The porch opens onto the lounge, an expansive though cosy space that has been beautifully finished with local artwork and eclectic furnishings. A wood burner takes centre stage and is perfect for a chilly autumn evening when you’re snuggled up in front of the Smart TV. From the lounge, you can head through to the conservatory, which has a small dining table and chairs and patio doors out to the garden. The kitchen is a light-filled space thanks to a large window that looks out on the garden. Rounding off the interior is a spacious king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room.
On sunny days, the enclosed garden beckons. It has a small patio area featuring outdoor dining furniture. You are welcome to wander within the grounds, and if you have a canine companion with you, be sure to check out the shared, enclosed dog paddock. There is a tarmacked driveway leading to gravel off-road parking for one car and a lockable shed for bike storage.
