A characterful, semi-detached grade 2 listed barn built in 1790, sitting in one and a half acres of grounds, in the rural village of Wentnor, Shropshire. Perfectly positioned for accessing the delights of Shropshire, alongside your canine companion, Walkmill Barn is a fantastic base for you and your loved one. After a day of rambling, kick off your walking boots and retire to the lounge, boasting a real sense of character with exposed beams and a woodburning stove, perfect for cosying up on a cold evening. Step through to the kitchen, equipped with all the necessities for a break away, allowing you to whip up a hearty feast for the group.
Step out into the garden, offering a patio space with furniture extending out to an acre and a half of grounds, perfect for your canine companion to explore, with plenty of wildlife and livestock to look out for! Venture up the stairs to reach the mezzanine bedroom, complete with a double bed and sitting area where you can enjoy a read before bed. The interior is complete with a ground-floor shower room. Explore your local surroundings, the village of Wentnor is a tranquil spot housing both a shop and pub, whereas the nearby town of Church Stretton provides a wider selection of amenities including a golf club and the beautiful Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd.

In the centre of south Shropshire, this peaceful community is situated between the charming towns of Church Stretton and Bishops Castle at the base of the Long Mynd Hills. Church Stretton, the primary hub for Shropshire's hill region, is surrounded by beautiful scenery and is home to a variety of tea houses, taverns, and specialty stores. Excellent hiking on the Long Mynd, the Acton Scott Working Farm, the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, and beautiful Stokesay Castle are a few further nearby attractions. Ideally situated for the Shropshire hills and of course Ludlow and Shrewsbury for those days when the weather wasnât suitable for roaming the beautiful countryside that the Long Wynd and surrounding hills offer. As to the property itself, Rita was a superb, friendly and helpful host of a cosy and well maintained and equipped cottage.

If youâre looking for somewhere quiet with no rushing around then this is for you, thereâs a lovely pub a stones throw away and a lovely little shop opposite,If you go further the field there are some fantastic little old villages and towns with some great history would definitely recommend, Rita the owner couldnât do enough to help you settling in 10/10

. The cottage was as described, cosy, comfortable and quaint. We met Rita (the owner) and Henry (woof, woof) a couple of times. She gave us ideas for the holiday and places to visit. Great welcome on arrival, complete with fresh laid eggs and home made sticky date cake, delicious. All in all excellent holiday and we would recommend it to anyone.
