Guests say

The Old School House is a charming and spacious cottage, perfect for group getaways and family gatherings. Guests consistently praise its unique character, beautiful countryside location, and welcoming hosts. The hot tub, large communal areas, and proximity to scenic walks and a popular local pub are standout features. While most found the property clean and well-equipped, a few noted minor maintenance issues and occasional lapses in comfort, such as bed quality and towel provision. Overall, the property offers a memorable and enjoyable stay with attentive hospitality.

Most guests found the property very clean and well-presented, with only a few mentioning cobwebs or spiders, which are understandable given the rural setting. A couple of reviews noted minor cleanliness issues with the hot tub and sofas, but these did not significantly detract from the overall impression.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful countryside setting, easy access to walks, and proximity to the Boyne Arms pub. Guests appreciated the peaceful surroundings and convenient drives to local attractions like Ludlow and Ironbridge.

The cottage is generally described as spacious and comfortable, with large communal areas and a cosy atmosphere. However, several guests mentioned uncomfortable beds and sofa beds, and a few noted the property could be chilly in winter or cramped at maximum occupancy.

Facilities such as the hot tub, kitchen, and communal spaces are frequently highlighted as excellent. Some guests experienced minor maintenance issues (e.g., hot tub heating, broken bed/sofa, towel provision), but overall, the amenities met or exceeded expectations for most visitors.

Hosts are repeatedly described as friendly, helpful, and attentive, often going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Some guests received thoughtful touches like homemade cakes, flowers, or dog treats, but please note these are not guaranteed for every visit.

As a group of 7/8 adults this place catered wonderfully We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend stay here The food at the boyne arms which is situated opposite was one of the best meals I’ve had as was the pizzas that they delivered for supper one night However I would say be prepared food wise as there’s not takeaways to rely on but the cooking facilities were excellent Will definitely be returning, the hot tub, fire place & balcony was a show stopper x

The getaway to the cottage was 100% worth it, taking a bunch of mates to chill out in the country side in a massive old school was so much fun, we didn't know what to expect but we were blown away! Honestly, 3 and a bit days wasn't enough, it was worth every penny

We had an amazing time at the old school house. Plenty of places to sit down to relax, and the table football was a huge hit with the kids. The kitchen area had plenty of cooking appliances along with more than enough tableware and cutlery- there was even a pressure cooker. The outdoor area was nice and secluded, and we did enjoy the hot tub. There were a few cobwebs, mainly in the higher hard to reach areas, that lead to seeing quite a few spiders but we didn't mind that too much.We went to the owners' pub for a meal one evening as well and food was really good and enjoyed by all, and pricing was quite reasonable given the location. The owners are also really lovely people.Overall, a lovely holiday and we would definitely consider returning in future
