Stokesay Castle – a medieval fortified manor house maintained by English Heritage – is just 9 miles away, or you might fancy heading to Bridgnorth (19 miles), famed for its natural beauty and attractions including a medieval castle and a cliff railway. Two nearby National Trust sites are well worth a visit. The first is the 18th -century Berrington Hall, 8.5 miles away; as well as the Georgian mansion, there are landscaped gardens and parkland to explore. The second is Croft Castle (10.5 miles), which sits in 1,500 acres and has a fascinating history spanning centuries.
