One mile away, the community of Pontesbury has additional amenities such as takeaways and restaurants, as well as Arscott Golf Club, Springlea Fishing Pools, and the Pontesbury cycle/footpath. The Long Mynd, which is close by, is a paradise for walkers and wildlife watchers, as well as a convenient area to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. Shrewsbury sits on a loop of the River Severn and is one of England's most beautiful heritage towns, with over 600 listed structures. Admire the charming cobblestone alleyways and squares, and take part in one of the many festivals, such as Shrewsbury's Summer Season. Shrewsbury is home to Shrewsbury Castle, which is set in stunning gardens and grounds and houses the Shropshire Regimental Museum, as well as a magnificent Abbey built in 1083. With the National Trust's Attingham Park, Wroxeter Roman City, museums in Ironbridge, Ludlow's castle and Michelin-starred restaurant, and Acton Scott working farm, which was featured in the Victorian Farm TV series, this delightful village is the perfect touring destination for your Shropshire vacation.

Andy was there to welcome us and offer us advice on the local area and best places to eat. The pod was great. Just one of two, set up high on the edge of a valley, with gorgeous views across to Wales. The pod was well thought out, well equipped, and every inch used to best advantage. Very good en suite with an excellent shower. Plenty of storage under the very comfortable bed and the sofa. It was lovely to sit out on the balcony, relax with a drink and watch the sheep and cows which came up to say hi! My husband, our two Golden Retrievers and I would DEFINITELY recommend.

The lodge has everything you need for a comfortable stay, the views are incredible (with sheep by your doorstep) and the walks surrounding the farm are great. Would definitely recommend!

Loved the area and views, beautiful sunsets and watching the cows and sheep. Nice walk through woods to a local pub The Mytton Arms, and a variety of other walks nearby. Views of Starry nights enjoying the quiet and serene evenings and a must to return. Close proximity to venture to a variety of destinations and return to some well earned peace and quiet. Hosts were extremely helpful and shared a number of interesting facts related to area and sheep.
