Dating back to 1600 and bursting with character and charm, these tastefully converted barns retain many of their original features whilst offering all modern comforts in their smartly furnished interiors. Decorations and a tree for Christmas and New Year bookings are available. Lovely country walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep. Set on a courtyard and each enjoying its own terrace and lawned garden, the cottages are located in Plealey, a peaceful and pretty village of half timbered houses. Lying just 6 miles from the interesting shops, inns, restaurants and cultural life found in the handsome medieval town of Shrewsbury. Fishing 0.5 miles away and excellent golf course at Arscott 0.5 miles.

The beautiful Shropshire landscape promises delight for bird watchers and walkers alike – Offa’s Dyke long distance footpath is easily accessible, with many circular walks taking in hill forts and castles on the way, whilst buzzards and skylarks soar above. Caer Caradoc and the Devils Chair on the Stiperstones possess a wild beauty and the conservation area of Long Mynd offers a wonderful day out. Spanning the River Severn, Ironbridge and its fascinating museums are among a wealth of attractions discovered within a short drive, as is Ludlow, a famous paradise for ‘foodies’, with its superb annual festival, racecourse, impressive castle, fine shops and delightful old inns. Fishing nearby (licences available at local post office). Shops and pubs 1.5 miles.

    Overall a lovely stay,just couple of things need looked at or fixed, .reason for average mark on comfort.1- bed in twin room broken, lifted mattress to find blankets etc were used to fill in dip of broken base..2-Didn't know that small freezer was understands till last day,needs info on website.3-needs heating in games room,calor gas heater not enough in cold months.4- somewhere to hang coats in hall,and curtain across door,as cold.These aren't negatives,just suggestions.Love cottage and games room, bedding smells lovely. A lovely wkend had by us all,will definitely return next year.

    We had a lovely few days at piglet cottage.Beautifully renorvated. If theres niggle would be for the shower downstairs could have been more secure on the wall and lack of one upstairs.Would certainly consider booking again.
