Lying just 6 miles from the interesting shops, inns, restaurants and cultural life found in the handsome medieval town of Shrewsbury. Fishing 0.5 miles away and excellent golf course at Arscott 0.5 miles.
The beautiful Shropshire landscape promises delight for bird watchers and walkers alike – Offa’s Dyke long distance footpath is easily accessible, with many circular walks taking in hill forts and castles on the way, whilst buzzards and skylarks soar above. Caer Caradoc and the Devils Chair on the Stiperstones possess a wild beauty and the conservation area of Long Mynd offers a wonderful day out. Spanning the River Severn, Ironbridge and its fascinating museums are among a wealth of attractions discovered within a short drive, as is Ludlow, a famous paradise for ‘foodies’, with its superb annual festival, racecourse, impressive castle, fine shops and delightful old inns. We had a great time staying at the Old Granary. It’s a very comfortable home and the communal playroom with snooker, table tennis, air hockey and a billiard table was a bonus we all enjoyed. There are some lovely walks in the area and it was really well situated for exploring Shropshire. We would definitely stay again.

The Old Granary was super for our Golden wedding celebration. The house itself is huge with ton of space downstairs and a lovely big dining area and living room. Some of the bedrooms are a bit of a squeeze due to the slanting roof which can't be helped. It's well stocked in the kitchen with equipment and a good selection of games and books. The games room was also an added bonus. The TV didn't go on once all week! Plenty of parking available. Great big patio with seating a a brick BBQ. House was spotless and beds comfy. My only grumble would be the towels were a bit small, I like a big bath sheet to wrap around. Location is easy to find but tucked away and such a peaceful area. It is well located for seeing all the sites of Shrewsbury and surroundings. There are a number of good takeaways and pubs in the area. Thoroughly recommend the food in The Red Lion at Longden Common about 6 minutes in the car and the river views at The Boat House in Shrewsbury. The owners were super lovely while we were there making sure we were all ok. Don't hesitate!
