More adventure awaits across the Peak District (from 8 miles); national park hotspots include Bakewell, Youlgreave, Darley Dale, Matlock, and Matlock Bath (all within 28 miles). For more nature and local wildlife, spend a morning at the popular Peak Wildlife Park (8 miles) before catering to the adrenaline seekers with a visit to Alton Towers Theme Park (2.5 miles). Closer to home, the lovely village of Alton (1.5 miles) offers a convenient local store and a choice of places to eat and drink.

Park your car in the on-site parking field and amble towards your private woodland retreat. Before heading inside, take a moment to appreciate the surrounding countryside that sets the tone for a nature-immersed stay. Step up onto the decking and into the pod. Uncover a studio-style space that sits beneath a curved wooden ceiling and is soaked in natural light thanks to the circular glass doors and windows that let the outside in. Fire up the wood burner on chilly days and sink into the sofa to rest weary walking muscles; this sofa can convert to sleep two additional children or one extra adult on request. When stomachs rumble, between the kitchenette and covered outdoor kitchen, you'll find everything needed for cooking up unforgettable holiday meals. Enjoy the chef's work at the cute dining table inside or step out to the decking to dine alfresco together. A double bed sits in the rear corner of the pod and is served by an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower and WC.
