Guests say

The Pump House is consistently praised for its peaceful and beautiful setting, offering a tranquil escape with cosy comforts such as underfloor heating and a roll top bath. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, unique charm, and the surrounding wildlife. The secure garden is a hit with dog owners, and the estate's grounds provide delightful walks. Some minor suggestions for improvement include a larger TV and additional washroom facilities, but overall, guests are highly satisfied and often express a desire to return.

Guests frequently mention the spotless condition of The Pump House, indicating a high level of cleanliness that contributes to the overall positive experience.

The location is celebrated for its quiet, peaceful environment and scenic beauty. The property's seclusion and proximity to nature trails and an arboretum are highly valued, although the remote setting and access roads are noted.

Comfort is a strong point, with mentions of a cosy atmosphere, underfloor heating, and a comfortable bed. However, there are a few remarks about an uncomfortable sofa and a bed that was too soft for some guests' preferences.

Facilities are generally well-received, with the property being well-equipped for self-catering stays. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches and secure garden. Points are deducted for the absence of a freezer and the desire for a larger TV and a downstairs washroom.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident in the extra touches like tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits on arrival, as well as the provision of a Christmas tree during the festive season. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

Lovely property for a relaxed comfortable stay with excellent communication and instructions. Everything you need for a short stay that we booked in a clean, warm and well equipped house. Beautiful surroundings and nearby restaurants and shops.

A delightful, well-equipped cottage which makes imaginative use of its historic beginnings and was well-heated for a Christmas break.Good wi-fi to compensate for intermittent mobile signal and excellent directions provided along with information on walks around the beautiful estate. The Pump House combines the best of a rural location - peaceful, walks from the doorstep, dark skies, wildlife - with shops and restaurants only a short a drive away. Two National Trust properties within a 20 minute drive and several English Heritage sites nearby.Would definitely book it again.

An ideal place for a peaceful get away. The Pump House is finished to a high standard, on lovely grounds that you are free to explore. It has a comfy bed and good shower. We loved the outdoor hammock type swings. Our only niggle was that the TV is a bit small for the distance to the settee.
