About this property

Nature’s Lodge rests in the peaceful Worcestershire countryside, close to the Shropshire and Staffordshire borders, offering a delightful pet-friendly escape surrounded by rolling fields, wildlife and walking trails. This welcoming retreat is an excellent choice for a couple or small family, with 15 acres of land to explore, and a host of fabulous attractions within easy reach. Step inside and you’re welcomed by a striking open-plan living area, where exposed natural beams bring character, and floor-to-ceiling windows look out to rolling hills, green lawns and vast skies with spectacular sunrises and sunsets. This bright 34-foot room combines a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area for relaxed mealtimes and a sitting area with a sofa, armchair and Smart TV with multi channels, including sports.

A woodburning stove in the corner adds warmth during the cooler months and casts a lovely, subtle glow in the room, making it a delightfully cosy and inviting space to unwind. The owners have thoughtfully positioned a truckle bed in the other corner of the room, giving the option for two extra guests while still keeping plenty of space. Up two small steps, the roomy king-size bedroom has a door for privacy and its own en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC. Outside, the Lodge opens onto a non-enclosed garden area adjoining the fields, as well as a lawned area and patio with tables, perfect for a leisurely breakfast in the fresh air or a quiet evening drink.

The adjacent 15 acres of fields and trails offer opportunities for peaceful strolls surrounded by nature and wildlife, hence the owners’ choice to name their garden annexe ‘Nature’s Lodge’—if you enjoy watching birds of prey or flocks of geese and fluttering butterflies, you’re in for a treat! The pretty canal, which edges the grounds, even features its own 19th-century bridge for walkers to rest at and enjoy the views. Cookley village is within walking distance and offers all the essentials, including shops, two pubs, a tea room, a fish and chip shop and an Indian takeaway. Situated on the River Stour and within the Wyre Forest district, it’s a lovely base for further riverside and woodland walks.

Kinver Edge and the Rock Houses can be easily reached by car, offering woodland views and the chance to explore unique sandstone dwellings once inhabited until the 1950s. Nearby, Bodenham Arboretum spreads across 170 acres and features miles of trails, pools and wildlife. Families can set off for a day at West Midlands Safari Park, where animals roam just metres from the car, or hop aboard a vintage steam train on the Severn Valley Railway from Kidderminster. The vast Wyre Forest, England’s largest woodland National Nature Reserve, is also close by and ideal for long, invigorating walks. Further afield, discover historic towns and landscapes such as Ludlow, Bewdley, Bridgnorth, Worcester, Stourport-on-Severn and the Victorian spa town of Malvern, tucked at the foot of its famed hills.

After a day of adventure, return to Nature’s Lodge, a peaceful haven where countryside charm and comfort come together.
