Nesbitt's novel, The Railway Children. Besides its close proximity to Haworth and the moors, Oakworth has an attractive ornamental park, and is within easy reach of the town of Keighley. The area is full of popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail. The market town of Skipton, Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate, and vibrant Leeds and Manchester. Also close to Lancashire border. Thank you for the bottle of bubbly & biscuits too. Excellent base for exploring Brontë & Railway children country, excellent bus service on the doorstep. The only downside was the rain, but that’s to be expected at this time of year. Would definitely recommend.

We loved it. A wonderful place. So comfortable and warm and cosy. It had everything we needed. We will be back.

Absolutely nothing to criticise. Immaculately clean and ready when we arrived ( early). We met the owners who were lovely. We mentioned there wasn’t a garlic press in the kitchen. I’ll bet there will be one very soon. So obliging. Will say it’s not totally dog safe although we cordoned a bit of the back yard off with some chairs. Maybe if some mesh was put on the double gates it would be better for dog owners. Our dog liked sitting at the front gate watching ( woofing) the world go by. If you want a drink the Snooty Fox is only a few yards away. Nice friendly people. Clean. Dog friendly good selection of reasonably priced drinks. We only went in “early doors” but understand they do have live music. Plenty of local walks and public footpaths. When we go back to Howarth or that area we wouldn’t look anywhere else. Quick easy drive to Keighley if you want a supermarket. Coop down the road. Oakworth Station close by for Worth Valley Railway. Plenty of buses close by. Short journey to Howarth and it’s lovely shops, bars and eateries
