Guests say

Waterside Lodge Thirteen offers stunning views and a relaxing hot tub experience, with guests appreciating the comfortable beds and the presence of wildlife. The property provides a good value stay with basic amenities and is well-equipped for a family holiday, despite some areas needing attention.

The lodge is generally described as clean and tidy, but there are mentions of a mould issue and a sewage smell on one occasion. The overall impression is that cleanliness is satisfactory, but could be improved.

The location is praised for its stunning views and proximity to a nature reserve, offering great scenery and wildlife. However, accessibility is reduced due to potholes and the property not being within walking distance to local shops.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the lodge spacious, but there are concerns about steep and slippery stairs, as well as the layout being a bit cramped for larger groups.

The facilities, including a hot tub and well-equipped kitchen, are appreciated, but many guests note that the property requires maintenance and TLC. Issues with heating and the condition of kitchen units are mentioned.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

It also has its own train station which provides connections to a variety of West Yorkshire towns and villages, including Hebden Bridge and Halifax, as well as offering direct services to the major tourist attractions of both Manchester and Leeds. Finally, the beautiful cobbled streets of Haworth, once home to the famous Brontë sisters, can be reached in around 30 minutes, and both the Yorkshire Dales and Peak District National Parks in under an hour and a half. We had a great time in lodge 13. It is definitely tired and does need some tlc BUT we paid a really good price and the tiredness did not spoil our fun at all. The hot tub was fab, The kitchen had everything we needed for 6 despite its appearance of peeling cupboard doors. The sofa was really comfy and we appreciated the throws as we had 2 dogs and didn’t want to ruin anything . The showers were good , dish washer and washing machine , all great. Yes it needs a lick of paint and a few things upgrading but for the price we paid , we’d definitely go again. A great family stay.

Great little holiday cottage, very clean and tidy when arrived and easy parking. Hot tub was great fun. Lights didn’t work, but it didn’t spoil the experience. Good dog walking in the nature reserve down the road. Local shops were Tesco/Sainsburys in Brighouse but not in walking distance. Great chippy up the road ‘Westgate FishBar’.

Great large accommodation however needs a lot of love and a good deep clean and redecorating as all rooms need attention and the steps to the outside patio and hot tub are rather rickity and steep in step, the roadways onto the site and to the accommodation again need maintenance as there are large pot holes. Other things to consider is that there is no where to hang towels in the bathrooms after a shower or the hot tub. That’s the negative positive great scenery and wildlife from patio and great hot tub.
