About this property

Pipistrelle House is a beautiful contemporary home for a family of four seeking a tranquil escape. Situated in the countryside between the villages of Brandesburton and Leven in the East Riding of Yorkshire, the property is ideally situated as a base for countryside walks with easy access to the coast and local attractions. Internally, the open-plan living space takes centre stage, providing a fabulous area for everyone to gather for some quality family time. Lounge on one of the inviting sofas in front of the television for an evening of relaxation, while the chef of the group gets to work in the amply equipped kitchen. Nestled amongst the sleek grey units you will find a good selection of appliances; with a gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge and a washing machine, the property hosts all the essentials for a week-long break. Sit together at the dining table to enjoy your home-cooked meals, with the light pouring into the room from the large imposing windows, settled within the feature exposed brick walls. Tucked beneath the eaves of the dwelling on the first floor is a good sized double and a twin bedroom, both with simple yet stylish interiors providing an ideal layout for a small family. The local village hosts everything you need from shops for your last-minute ingredients to takeaways or pubs and restaurants for a more relaxed indulgent evening. Brandesburton has its own golf course and shooting ground with a number of fishing lakes to explore for a true countryside experience whilst Leven has a well-equipped social club, airfield and walks by the canal and River Hull. For a day on the waves, head to Hornsea Beach or further up the coast to Bridlington, Filey or Scarborough where you can participate in a variety of watersports or simply soak in the sun. Alternatively take a trip to the historic town of Beverley, home to a wide range of independent shops, a cobbled market square and the beautiful Beverley Minster. For a truly tranquil retreat, Pipistrelle House is perfect for you and your loved ones, at any time of the year.

Brandesburton is a modest village resting within the East Riding of Yorkshire, encompassed by ponds and stunning natural lands. Within the village you can find two local shops for any last-minute amenities, village inns and takeaways in various forms of cuisine. For an outdoor experience, play a game or gold or explore the village green and the fishing ponds for a true countryside experience. In close reach of historic Beverly and the wonders of Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere House and Burton Constable Hall, Brandesburton is a wonderful base for a retreat to Yorkshire.

We also enjoyed the pond, complete with small island to keep nesting waterfowl safe from foxes. Beautiful bird song too

The kitchen was well equipped and the bed linen and towels good quality. A tiny suggestion (not a criticism) would be to have a couple of arm chairs by the large window where you could soak up the morning sun while having coffee etc or reading, it's a real sun trap. A return visit is on the cards! PS Thank you for the milk and biscuits.

Holidays in February can be challenging with the weather and the entrance area was perfect for coats and boots in the wet weather and to towel off a damp dog. Very specious comfy living area and a roomy comfortable double bedroom. Great to have onsite parking and the field with the pond to walk the dog round. Biscuits and milk were a lovely touch so we could get the kettle straight on. If we visited the area again we would definitely return to Pipistelle Cottage.
