We’ve just got back from our 4 night stay at the stables. It honestly was our best stay yet! We were provided with little extras that really made the difference like a pack of essentials for the dog and treats for us too.The hot tub was amazing and the surrounding location that was quiet and serene made the experience even more special. We loved feeding carrots to the alpacas every morning with our son and it’s the perfect place to stay if you have a toddler. He loved running around the grounds and splashing in the puddles. I definitely will be returning here next year for another stay. Thank you for your hospitality!

I cannot reccomend The Stables highly enough! It is the most perfect little property with everything you could possibly need at hand. Its immaculate and so comfortable. The log fire and hot tub make it extra cosy and relaxing. Its very dog friendly and a perfect base to explore the local area or head to the beach for the day (30 minute drive away). The welcome pack was a lovely touch too. We cant wait to visit again and would highly recommend!

Everything about The Stables is 5 star. I have given 5 stars for local amenities, although there aren't many really. The property is on a working farm and down a long lane isolated from local amenities. It still gets 5 stars from us because we didn't actually want anywhere with local amenities, we wanted somewhere quiet where we could relax and unwind. The Stables is one of the conversions on the farm which were completed in 2024. As a result the buildings, interiors and surroundings are effectively newly decorated and immaculate. Although there were people staying in the other 2 properties we felt that the place was still very private and was not overlooked. It is an ideal place to stay to relax or use as a base for visiting the coast or other places nearby.Outside there is a picturesque pond a few metres away which is surrounded by native wildflowers. There is a grassed area in front of the pond with seating to enjoy the view of the open countryside. I presume that the owl box next to the pond is either occupied or visited as the owl could be heard when I paid a visit to the WC during the night. On the opposite side of the property is a field containing Alpacas. The 5 males came to visit each morning and were just outside the bedroom window chomping on grass when we opened the blinds. They are friendly and soon demolish any carrots that are hand fed to them (although there is a pecking order and the boss thought nothing of spitting chewed up carrots at his mates). The Stables was very well equipped with high quality fittings, furnishings, equipment etc. There were ample logs for the log burner and lots for the log fired hot tub (which was just amazing). Our host, Paula, kindly lit the hot tub upon our arrival so that we could enjoy a soak and relax shortly afterwards. She is very friendly and was happy to have a chat (perhaps to the extent that we were taking up a bit too much of her time). Although we weren't aware until we looked in the kitchen, we were surprised that Paula had provided a pint of milk, eggs, biscuits, Yorkshire Brack and a family pack of crisps for our stay - very nice too.We visited some of the nearby places on the coast as well as having a ride around the area. Bridlington is roughly 35 minutes away with Hornsea and Skipsea a few minutes less.We were very surprised just how lovely the area is kept. Although we did do some sight seeing and drove a few miles we did not see a single speed camera! Potholes were non-existent! Grass verges were cut and tidy with no litter apparent. Compared to how our own council in Nottinghamshire look after the area where we live, East Yorkshire, or certainly wherever we visited was immaculate - it was like being on another planet where council tax actually goes on maintaining the area and the services they're paid for!We have travelled all over the world and stayed at umteen holiday cottages throughout the UK over the years, but we have to say that The Stables is probably one of, if not the nicest presented holiday cottages we have stayed in. A lot of care obviously goes into ensuring visitors have a good stay. Needless to say that we will be booking again for future breaks there (which is unusual as we rarely stay at the same place more than once).Very highly recommended.
