Netherscar is a well-loved cottage praised for its stunning views, peacefulness, and excellent walking opportunities right from the doorstep. Guests appreciate the cosy atmosphere, the well-equipped kitchen, and the large garden. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many guests returning and recommending the property for a tranquil getaway.
The cottage is generally described as clean, with comfortable beds and a well-maintained appearance. However, a few guests mentioned the need for a deep clean and renovation, suggesting room for improvement.
The location is consistently lauded for its tranquillity, beautiful views of the Yorkshire Dales, and proximity to walking trails. The remote setting contributes to the overall peaceful experience.
Guests find the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable. Some discomfort is noted due to a broken spring in a mattress and an L-shaped sofa. The heating issues mentioned by a guest suggest that comfort could be enhanced.
The property is well-equipped, with a useful kitchen and good Wi-Fi. However, guests have reported issues with the heating system, water quality, and some appliances, indicating that maintenance could be improved.
The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, with mentions of a warm welcome and gifts such as eggs and jams. While these gestures are appreciated, it is noted that such gifts are a kind bonus and not guaranteed.
Ingleton 5 miles; Hawes 12 miles.
A detached house situated in a haven of peace and tranquillity and offering arguably one of the best views in England. The property is situated at the end of a private road in the scattered hamlet of Chapel-le-Dale and offers incredible views of Ingleborough and distant views of the Ribblehead Viaduct. It offers comfortable and well-equipped accommodation and there is excellent walking from the doorstep. Ideal for an 'away from it all' holiday.
The attractive village of Ingleton is nestled beneath Ingleborough, one of the famous ‘Three Peaks' on the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Offering a wide range of shops, pubs and places to eat, the winding streets of this pretty village all converge on a central market place. A mile outside of Ingleton and down the Hawes road are the well known White Scar Caves. Open to the public, these caves display a huge number of caverns full of stalactites and stalagmites, with one cave home to a huge underground lake. The superb ‘Falls Walk' offers an interesting circuit which takes in some of the impressive cascading waterfalls of the area whilst the proximity to both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake distract make this an excellent place for walkers.

The weather was amazing, sunshine every day. we did the waterfall walk at Ingleton, a bit of a challenge for us 70 yr olds but certainly worth the effort. The location of Netherscar is possibly one of the best in the Dales - the night sky - all the stars amazing with no light pollution. Vicky had the log burner alight for us on arrival which was so appreciated as it had rained all that day. We love Netherscar and know we will be back again.

Neatherscar was so comfortable, very clean and has everything you need and more for a perfect holiday. Our two granddaughters aged 4 and 6, our two dogs and 4 adults loved this cottage, its huge garden and we all walked for miles including climbing, whernside, ingleborough and pen-y-ghent along with trips to morecambe and Ingleton water fall trail. The cottage is a lovely place to walk, relax and enjoy a rural escape and has the most spectacular views. A lovely holiday had by all and we will definitely be back. Thank you to the owners.

Having been to the cottage some years ago we were pleasantly surprised to see the improvements made. The cottage is clean, the beds very comfortable, the shower has reasonably good pressure and the wood burner both essential and enjoyable. And when you are lucky with the weather you wonât find a more beautiful view of Ingleborough and Ribblehead Viaduct without moving from the comfort of your armchair! We also appreciated how friendly and helpful the owner was when we needed help with a couple of issues. We have pointed out to Sykes that their listing needs updating to show that towels are provided and that mobile reception is limited to EE.
