Nestling in the historic heart of Upper Settle, this lovely cottage was once a Victorian chandlery. Located on the Pennine Bridleway and Yorkshire Dales Cycleway, with beautiful walks straight from the door, the cottage is within a short and scenic walk of Settle market square with its shops, cafés and award-winning pubs. With accommodation over three floors, and featuring artwork by outstanding Yorkshire and Pennine artists, Chandlers Cottage offers a stylish and comfortable retreat for couples, families and groups of friends. Enter the light and airy sitting room, with a classic Dales view from its huge original windows; at night, turn on the fire and the lamps and cosy up with the Yorkshire lamb’s wool cushions and throws.
Go through glazed double doors to a pretty cottage-style kitchen/diner, well-equipped with everything you’ll need for preparing delicious home-cooked meals. Two beautifully presented bedrooms are located on the first floor: the double includes a window seat and its own en-suite with walk-in shower, while the twin room enjoys views across Settle. The delightful bathroom boasts a luxurious freestanding bath, perfect for soaking in after a busy day’s sightseeing. Up a steep staircase to the second floor, discover a cosy and characterful twin bedroom under the eaves, with low ceilings and velux windows. Tucked away at the back of the cottage you’ll find an enclosed suntrap patio, ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine and planning your holiday.
Within a short stroll of the cottage you can visit England’s smallest art gallery - the Gallery on the Green, enjoy delicious coffee and cake at The Folly Museum, or stock up on food and essentials at independent local shops. Stunning Dales landscapes including Attermire Crags, prehistoric site Victoria Cave, and the waterfalls of Stainforth, Catrigg and Scaleber Force are all within a 3-mile radius, offering excitement around every corner. Chandlers Cottage provides the perfect base for exploring Dales attractions including Malham Tarn and Cove, the Settle Carlisle railway, and the Three Peaks.
Settle is a popular market town situated at the south west rim of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The market day in Settle is held on a Tuesday and the town has shops, restaurants, pubs and a public swimming pool. The famous Settle-Carlisle Railway crosses some of the most inspiring upland scenery in the country and the natural attractions of Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are well worth exploring. Also within driving distance is the nearby towns of Skipton and Malham.

Linda
Very comfortable and had all we needed. We particularly liked the bench outside for an early morning cup of coffee and the patio at the back for a glass of wine in the early evening. The owners were very responsive. Thoroughly recommend!
Angie
The owners were very friendly and helpful and the welcome gifts were much appreciated. The top floor bedroom has a very low roof but there was transparency about this upon booking the cottage. We would definitely consider booking the cottage again.
