Situated just 10 minutes from the centre of Skipton, life really will slow down once you arrive at this stunning hideaway overlooking the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Higher Scarcliffe rests on the hillside overlooking the Broughton Estate, which was one of the settings for the television series Gentleman Jack and All Creatures Great and Small. Offering two sitting rooms, each with a wood-burning stove, this special farmhouse feels wonderfully romantic. Snuggle down for the evening on a cold winters night as ambient light flickers around the room. A further galleried seating area offers children a place to call their own as they enjoy a board game with siblings. Formal dining can be enjoyed around the dining table which seats eight guests, and the well-equipped farmhouse kitchen features a wonderful breakfast area. From here, via the utility room, a stable door leads out to the patio area. The view from here is sure to impressive with the most magnificent panoramic vista.

Catering for all guests needs, each of the three tastefully decorated bedrooms on the first floor can be configured as super-king size or 3' twin beds, and needless to say, there is a wonderful view from every bedroom window.

Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, Broughton Sanctuary has been home to many production companies over the years, starring as the backdrop for numerous shoots throughout Broughton Hall and the magnificent grounds. Rich with family history, Broughton Sanctuary's present owner, Roger Tempest is the 32nd generation. His sister, the cartoonist Annie Tempest, has used this childhood home as her inspiration for Country Life’s tongue-in-cheek humour, Tottering Hall, headed up by Dick and Daffy and their loyal black Labrador, Slobber.

The estate provides wonderful walks, cycling trails, wild swimming, sweat lodge, sauna, and access to the award winning Avalon Wellbeing Centre.
