One of three gatehouses on the Borughton Sanctuary, Top Lodge is a charming detached retreat styled with colourful retro-meets-modern interiors. Comfortably sleeping up to six guests in three individually designed spacious bedrooms boasting their own bath or shower room, guests have the opportunity to discover surrounding scenic walks and wild swimming, while reconnecting with nature and each other, all ten minutes from the market town of Skipton.

With ample space over three floors, Top Lodge has a wonderful homely feel throughout and is just perfect for families or friends in need of some down time within this amazing Sanctuary. The ground floor comprises of a well-equipped kitchen, a charming dining room, a delightful sitting room with Sky television, and king-size bedroom three with en-suite shower room. Follow the stairs down to the lower ground floor which as been converted into a viewing room, library, and utility room. Upstairs to the first floor, two king-size bedrooms are presented, each with their own family bathroom.

Outside to the rear of Top Lodge, a pleasant garden overlooks peaceful woodland; the essential ingredient for a relaxing afternoon. Bikes can be securely stored in the outbuildings.

Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, Broughton Sanctuary has been home to many production companies over the years, with Broughton Hall and the magnificent grounds featuring as the backdrop to many shoots, including Emily, Gentleman Jack, Ridley Road and, of course, All Creatures Great and Small, as the home of Mrs Pumphrey and her infamous dog Tricki Woo. Rich with family history, Broughton Sanctuary's present owner, Roger Tempest is the 32nd generation. His sister, the cartoonist Annie Tempest, has used this childhood home as her inspiration for Country Life’s tongue-in-cheek humour, Tottering Hall, headed up by Dick and Daffy and their loyal black Labrador, Slobber.

The Sanctuary provides wonderful walks, cycling trails, wild swimming, sweat lodge, sauna and access to the award winning Avalon Wellbeing Centre, home to an indoor swimming pool, steam rooms, PT Studio and sauna, all of which are available on request (please contact us for more information).
