Guests say

Pottowe Cottage receives high praise for its spacious, accessible, and well-equipped accommodation set in peaceful countryside with beautiful views. Guests consistently highlight the friendly and helpful owner, Keith, and the cottage’s suitability for those with limited mobility or wheelchair users. The location is ideal for exploring North Yorkshire and the coast. While a few minor maintenance and cleaning issues were noted, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.

Most guests found the cottage very clean and well maintained, though a handful mentioned minor issues such as cobwebs, unemptied bins, and the need for a floor mop. These were exceptions rather than the rule.

The location is frequently described as peaceful, quiet, and ideal for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and coast. Guests appreciated the beautiful countryside views and easy access to local attractions.

Guests found the cottage spacious, warm, and comfortable, especially for those with mobility needs. Beds and living areas were generally praised, though a few found the beds a little firm or suggested an extra toilet would be helpful.

The cottage is well equipped, particularly for wheelchair users, with wide doors, accessible bathrooms, and thoughtful touches like shower chairs when requested. Some minor maintenance issues (loose tiles, missing remotes) were mentioned but did not detract significantly from the overall experience.

Many guests appreciated thoughtful gestures such as milk and biscuits on arrival and the owner’s proactive communication and assistance. Please note, these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Keith; the owner, was there to greet us and make sure we were okay with everything. He very kindly loaned us a toilet frame and shower chair which was very welcome. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of hot water (a bonus). We hope to return in the near future. 29th May 2026 to 5th June 2026
