This traditional country cottage boasts stunning castle views from the front window, and picturesque rural farmland views to the rear. Situated in the magnificent Yorkshire Dales National Park, this delightful cottage is an ideal base for exploring all that the local area has to offer.
Inside, the very well equipped kitchen overlooks expansive fields where flocks of sheep and lambs graze. The dining space in the kitchen is light and airy, and the sitting room with a warming wood burning stove and Sky TV is a cosy space to return to on a chilly winter's day, ensuring a comfortable visit in any season. Log into the Amazon Dot to play your own music and set the mood. Upstairs, three stylish bedrooms (a king-size and two singles) are beautifully curated for ultimate relaxation after a day spent walking the Dales or sightseeing in the many beautiful towns and villages, such as Leyburn, Hawes, and Aysgarth with famous waterfalls.
The cottage is surrounded by a pretty patio area and benefits from sun throughout the day. Boasting a secluded decking to the rear with table and chairs for four guests, this space is perfect for al fresco summer dining and taking in the peaceful surroundings. Off road parking is provided for two cars along with secure bike storage.

The location at Castle Bolton is stunning; the best kind of sleepy, peaceful English Hamlet: panoramic views of the hills and, of course, great views of the castle itself. Visitors are welcome at the castle tea rooms without needing to purchase an entrance ticket, and the date and oat slice is irresistible! We spent many an afternoon sampling their wares. The cottage itself is compact. I think four adults might feel cramped. And being built in the days before damp courses did smell a little musty. It also needed a lick of paint. However the bathroom and kitchen were of good quality; tastefully modernised, and the cottage really is very well equipped indeed. The panel electric radiators warm the cottage very quickly and the wood burning stove is aesthetically pleasing, although doesn't give out lots of heat. The beds were comfortable, although, as others have said, you absolutely can't walk around the double bed in the master bedroom. The gap at the bottom is max 3 inches. This didn't trouble me at all, but might be a challenge if you have limited mobility. There are several great walks from the cottage. We tried the one down into Redmire and on to Redmire Force, the one across the fields to Carperby and a third along the RUPP to Askrigg (signed from Bolton Castle: youll see lapwings and curlew aplenty). The footpaths are pretty well signed, but we recommend you do take an Ord Survey map. The pubs in Redmire and Carperby are lovely. The independent deli/grocers in Leyburn fantastic. And do visit Middleham Castle and the Forbidden Corner.
