Tucked away in a picturesque, secluded corner of Wensleydale, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this well presented, cosy barn conversion next to Skellgill Beck is an ideal holiday retreat. The villages of Askrigg and Bainbridge are only one mile away, and the market town of Hawes, home of the Wensleydale Creamery, just a short drive. Set on the owners’ traditional Dales working farm, guests are welcome to watch the lambing, shearing and the sheepdogs working.

Skellgill Barn is set in a very peaceful location near the lovely villages of Bainbridge and Askrigg. We enjoyed sitting next to the brook running past the barn and watching the sheep and cows. There are amazing views across the valley and lovely walks to Hawes and Askrigg. Bainbridge and Askrigg both have really good teashops. The barn itself is very cosy and the owner is nearby and very helpful. She kindly gave us biscuits and Wensleydale cheese on arrival. Would highly recommend it.

We had a lovely time at the cottage. The setting was on a farm and was so quiet. Lovely views from the cottage. Lovely walks too. Hawes was close by and the area had lots of pubs, coffee shops and a small Spar too. Received some lovely biscuits and local Wensleydale cheese and biscuits which were lovely. Only complaint was the shower head in the bathroom.

Bathroom needed a good clean shower head totally disgusting. The bathroom extractor fan not working damp markings around ceiling and shower tray.We put up with it for 5 days bur came home 2 days early. Did not expect poor conditions have used Cottages .Com 3 times now but this may be the ladt time very disappointed.
