Very clean and comfortable with a constant supply of hot water and heating. Off road parking and a very peaceful location. Owners on hand if required and we very much enjoyed the homemade brownies after our long journey. Great to have a dishwasher, full fridge and freezer and a washing machine for such a compact property. We also loved the two large chairs in the bedroom. The Bothy is very cosy and well positioned for exploring the local area. We got to visit lots of places including York, Helmsley, National Trust properties, Castle Howard and Eden Camp.

5 Mbps. Low-level flypasts from the RAF (Hawks out of RAF Valley and Leeming, Typhoons out of RAF Coningsby, and even visiting Drakens out of Teeside) are great fun. The village pub is an easy walk, even for me at 72. It is very dog-friendly and has a good selection of beers.

Owners very pleasant came to welcome us. They had left some lovely chocolate brownies, pint of milk, some coffee sachets and tea bags as a welcoming bonus! Only one thing : the boiler is very noisy and comes on through the night so earplugs may be good if youâre a light sleeper . Otherwise PERFECT!
