Manor House Farm offers a charming and comfortable cottage experience in a tranquil, scenic setting, ideal for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and coast. Guests praise the beautiful gardens, well-equipped kitchen, and cosy farmhouse atmosphere. While the peaceful, remote location is a highlight for many, some found it a little far from local amenities. A few maintenance and cleanliness issues were noted, particularly in the bathrooms and with kitchen supplies, but overall, the property provides a relaxing and enjoyable base for a countryside holiday.
Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, especially the kitchen and dining areas. However, some reported issues such as dead flies in bedrooms and a bathroom that had not been adequately cleaned or maintained, which affected the overall impression.
The property is praised for its stunning, peaceful location with beautiful views and easy access to local attractions. Some guests found it a bit remote and far from shops and pubs, but most appreciated the quiet countryside setting.
Guests consistently mention comfortable beds, quality linen, and a cosy farmhouse feel. While one review noted the cottage felt cold during their stay, the majority found it a comfortable and restful place to stay.
The cottage is generally well-equipped, especially the kitchen, but some guests noted missing items (such as mugs and mixing bowls), minor maintenance issues (like a broken shower dial), and insufficient dishwasher tablets. These detracted slightly from the overall experience.
There are no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

A lovely old house in a stunning location (but perhaps difficult to access in winter?). A well-equipped kitchen for real cooks with only two things missing - a proper mixing bowl and a small heatproof (Pyrex) bowl. Plenty of hot water, too. Comfortable sitting for the evenings but a decent reading lamp would make it even better - not everyone wants to watch tv on holiday! The beds are also comfortable and the linen is of good quality. Certainly one of the better holiday lets I've experienced over the last forty years and I might well return before too long as there is so much to do and explore in the area.

We liked the cottage and found it very well set out. We did however, have a problem with the heating. The whole place felt cold all the time we were there. The beds were very comfortable. I sure it would be excellent in the warmer weather. I don’t think we will return!

The location is in a very quiet valley with lots to do in the area, and the outside space was great. The kitchen and dining room were clean and as expected. However, the water doesn't drain properly through the filter coffee machine. A pod coffee machine was also provided, although this was not clear prior to arrival, and no pods were provided. The cottage is supposed to sleep 6 people, but there was insufficient crockery, for example, only 5 mugs. This meant the dish washer had to be put on regularly, but there were only a couple of dishwasher tablets. There were a lot of dead flies in the upstairs double bedroom and landing and a few downstairs - clearly hadn't been cleaned properly recently. The main issue was that the downstairs bathroom was not fit for purpose and has not been cleaned / maintained adequately. The shower temperature could not be fully adjusted (broken dial) and the drains were so blocked that the flow was too slow to have a shower - it had to be turned off for it to drain away before a shower could be resumed or it would have overflowed. The cottage is described as luxury. It has great potential, but it felt adequate and in need of tlc / maintenance at best.
