Glossop Cottage in Whitby is a beautifully renovated and spotlessly clean holiday home, praised for its modern decor, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests love its convenient location within walking distance of the town centre, though the hilly setting and on-street parking can be challenging for some. The cottage is ideal for families and groups, offering a cosy base to explore Whitby and the surrounding area. Minor issues such as limited kitchenware and occasional maintenance needs were noted, but overall, guests thoroughly enjoyed their stay and would happily return.
Multiple reviews highlight the cottage as spotlessly clean and well-presented, with no significant complaints about cleanliness. Only one mention of previous guests' hair in the shower trap, which was quickly resolved by the guest.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to Whitby town centre and local attractions. The main negatives are the steep hills and variable on-street parking, which some guests found challenging, especially for elderly visitors.
Guests consistently mention comfortable beds, a well-designed open-plan living area, and a cosy atmosphere. Some minor issues with heating in the loft room were quickly resolved, and occasional noise from neighbouring terraced houses was noted.
The cottage is described as well-equipped with quality fittings and thoughtful touches. Some guests noted a lack of smaller saucepans, limited glassware, and occasional maintenance issues (e.g., radiator, back gate, damp patches), but these did not significantly impact their stay.
Guests appreciated the attention to detail, such as clear instructions for appliances and useful signage. No mention of welcome gifts or extras, so guests should note that such items are not guaranteed.

Cottage was lovely - spotlessly clean with very comfy beds. Great location and found on street parking easy enough nearby. Would have benefitted from a small pan in the kitchen as there was only one large one. There were also quite a few visible damp patches on the wallpaper in the loft room which looked a little unsightly but didn't cause any issues. Overall, would be more than happy to return - great choice for clean and comfy accommodation in Whitby!

A great cottage if you want to explore Whitby and the surrounding area. It's easy to walk into town and parking wasn't an issue.
